He instead began his career as a line producer, screenwriter, and assistant director for other filmmakers like Jia Zhangke, Fruit Chan and Zhang Yang.[1] In these positions, Sheng worked on the films Spicy Love Soup, Durian Durian, Public Toilet, and Platform.[1]

The bank was headquartered in Shanghai and had the authority to issue notes from the Qing government.

Sheng-yen: was a Buddhist monk, a religious scholar, and one of the mainstream teachers of Chinese Chan Buddhism. He was the 57th generational descendant of Linji in the Linji (Japanese: Rinzai) School and a 3rd generational descendant of Master Hsu Yun. In the Caodong (Japanese: Soto) lineage, Sheng Yen was the 52nd generational descendant of Master Dongshan (807-869), and the direct descendant of Master Dongchu (1908–1977). Sheng-yen was the founder of the Dharma Drum Mountain, a Buddhist organization based in Taiwan. During his time in Taiwan, Sheng Yen was well known as one of the progressive Buddhist teachers who sought to teach Buddhism in a modern and Western-influenced world. In Taiwan, he was one of four prominent modern Buddhist masters, along with Masters Hsing Yun, Cheng Yen and Wei Chueh. In 2000 he was one of the keynote speakers in the Millennium World Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders held in the United Nations.

Bì Sheng: was the inventor of the first known movable type printing system. Bi Sheng's type was made of baked clay and was invented between 1041 and 1048 in China.Bi Sheng was a commoner and his ancestry and details were not recorded. He was recorded only in the Writings Beside the Meng Creek (???? Mengxi Bitan, or Dream Pool Essays) by Chinese scholar, official, and polymath scientist Shen Kuo (??) (1031–1095). Writings Beside the Meng Creek, however, gave detailed and sufficient description on the technical details of Bi Sheng's invention of movable type:

Shao Fang Sheng: is a well known Chinese artist who is also one of the last remaining apprentices of Frank Lloyd Wright. Of Shao Fang, Olgivanna Lloyd-Wright observed she, “made friends with unmatched speed and always with those she could profit by most.” Upon arrival to the United States, she stayed with Frank Lloyd Wright and Olgivanna Lloyd Wright, where she cooked and entertained guests including John Wayne, James Stewart and other actors and socialites. She taught Mandarin to John King Fairbank, a well known scholar from Harvard University, at the American Embassy in Nanking. Furthermore her ability to paint with watercolours was noticed by several well known painting masters and she was commissioned by the Nationalist Government of China, to duplicate the fresco within the Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves, situated in the Taklamakan Desert of China. Her late husband Sheng Pao Sheng was also an apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright and a respected architect.
