Charles Gavan "Chubby" Power: was a Canadian politician and athlete. Power's father, William Power, was also a Member of Parliament from Quebec, retiring in 1917. He had three brothers James, Joe who were also athletes and William Gerard Power who became a member of the Legislative Council of Quebec. He entered politics in the 1917 federal election, after having been wounded during the Battle of the Somme. He was awarded the Military Cross for gallantry during military operations. He was elected as a "Laurier Liberal" during the Conscription Crisis of 1917. Charles Power retired from the House of Commons in 1955. He was appointed to the Senate of Canada on 28 July 1955 and served until his death in 1968. His grandson Lawrence Cannon was elected to the Canadian House of Commons in 2006 as a Conservative.

Born in the parish of Sillery, Quebec City, the son of William Power and Susan Winifred Rockett, Power was educated at the Commercial Academy of Quebec and the College Mont-Saint-Louis in Montreal . A lumber merchant, he joined W & J Sharples in 1897, becoming its president in 1921, until 1929. A partner in the River Ouelle Pulp & Lumber Company. Named to the Legislative Council of Quebec in 1923 for the division of Stadacona as a Liberal. He resigned on July 25, 1934 to become a member of the Quebec Liquor Commission.

Michael Joseph Power: was a businessman and political figure in Nova Scotia, Canada. He represented Halifax County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1882 to 1894 as a Liberal member. He opened a liquor retail business and then was a grocer. Power was a captain in the militia and served as a member of Halifax city council and chairman of the board of works. He ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the provincial assembly in 1878. Power served as speaker for the provincial assembly from 1887 to 1894. He was defeated when he ran for reelection in 1894. Power died in Halifax at the age of 60 after suffering from Bright's disease for some time.
