Bei Dao: is the pseudonym of Chinese poet Zhao Zhenkai (???). He was born in Beijing, his pseudonym was chosen because he came from the north and because of his preference for solitude[1]. Bei Dao is the most notable representative of the Misty Poets, a group of Chinese poets who reacted against the restrictions of the Cultural Revolution[2].

Jia Dao            Origin/Culture/Country: Chinese

Jia Dao: was a Chinese poet born near modern Beijing. After a period as a Buddhist monk, he went to Chang'an. He became one of Han Yu's disciples, but failed the jinshi exam several times. He wrote both discursive gushi and lyric jintishi. His works were criticised as "thin" by Su Shi, and some other commentators have considered them limited and artificial.

Shen Dao            Origin/Culture/Country: Chinese

Shen Dao: was an itinerant Chinese philosopher from Zhao who also served at the Jixia academy in Qi. His own original 42 essays have been lost, and only 7 are still extant, and he is known largely through short references and the writings of others, notably Han Fei and Zhuang Zi.
