Cheng's landscape painting followed the style of Huang Gongwang and Ni Zan in its wild and natural taste. Cheng also wrote a number of poems. Along with Tang Shisheng (???), Lou Jian (??), and Li Liufang (???), he was known as one of the "Four Teachers of Jiading" (?????)[2].

Cheng was taught by Dong Qichang and collaborated with Kun Can. His landscapes were painted using the side of the dry brush, in a pure and profound style. In poetry he produced the work Qing Xi Left Script.

Carol Cheng: is an actress and host from Hong Kong. Cheng began her career in the 1975 working on a number of Television Broadcasts Limited series. She also hosted the Hong Kong version of the game show The Weakest Link from 2001-2002. In 1980, she made her debut along with Chow Yun-fat.[citation needed] After her film debut her output became so prolific that at one point she was working on nine films simultaneously, leading her to have the nickname "Nine films Cheng." It was also during this very prolific time in her career that she became the highest paid actress in the region, beating out Maggie Cheung, Anita Mui and Michelle Yeoh, who rounded up the top 5. She began hosting programmes for TVB in 1997, she returned to acting with a critically acclaimed performance in the TVB sitcom, "War of Genders". It immediately become the highest rated show for the network TVB and garnered Cheng a Best Actress trophy at the annual awards. She is the highest-paid female employee of TVB.

Olivia Cheng: is a Hong Kong based former actress. She won the 1979 Miss Hong Kong Pageant and was also elected "Miss Photogenic." She represented Hong Kong in Miss Universe 1979 in Perth, Western Australia, where she went unplaced but ranked a very respectable 21st place in the preliminary swimsuit competition. Olivia created a controversy when she joined ATV (the arch-rival of TVB, the organiser of the Miss Hong Kong pageant) immediately after crowning her successor in 1980. This incident embarrassed TVB so much that in 1981, TVB decided to sign 1.5-year contracts with all Miss Hong Kong winners so that they had to stay with TVB for at least 6 months after their reign was over.

Jiaxin Cheng: is a Chinese cellist. Since 2007 Jiaxin has been living in London where she has given several recitals. Her performance in April 2008 at Her Majesty’s Theatre with both Andrew and Julian Lloyd Webber was described as “the emotional highlight of the evening”. She appeared as a soloist at the Royal Festival Hall in April 2011 and on BBC Radio 3 in October 2011. Jiaxin's first recording with the cellist Julian Lloyd Webber, released in March 2011, is Menotti's Arioso for 2 cellos and strings, featured on the album The Art of Julian Lloyd Webber.

Gu Cheng: was a famous Chinese modern poet, essayist, and novelist. He was a prominent member of the "Misty Poets", a group of Chinese modernist poets. In the late 1970s, Cheng became associated with the journal "Today" (Jintian) which began a movement in poetry known as "menglong" meaning "hazy, "obscure". He became an international celebrity and travelled around the world accompanied by his wife, Xie Ye. The two settled in Rocky Bay, a small village on Waiheke Island, Auckland, New Zealand in 1987. Cheng taught Chinese at the University of Auckland in the City of Auckland. In October 1993, Gu Cheng attacked his wife before hanging himself. She died later in a hospital. The story of his death was widely covered in the Chinese media.

M. T. Cheng: was a notable Chinese mathematician. Cheng was the main founder of Peking University Mathematical Research Institute, and longtime head of the Department of Mathematics of Peking University. In 1947, Cheng went to USA to continue his study at Princeton University. His doctoral advisor was Salomon Bochner. Cheng earned his PhD in 1949, and did his postdoctoral research at Princeton till Jan 1950. Cheng went back to China. From Jan 1951 to 1952, Cheng was an associate professor and later professor at the Department of Mathematics of Tsinghua University. Since 1952, Cheng was a professor at the Department of Mathematics of Peking University. From 1978 to 1988, Cheng was the Director of the Mathematical Research Institute of Peking University. Cheng was elected into Chinese Academy of Sciences as an academician in 1980. From 1982 to 1988, Cheng was the President of Beijing Mathematical Society. From 1983 to 1988, Cheng was a Vice-president of Chinese Mathematical Society.
