Chesley Bonestell: was a painter, designer and illustrator. His paintings were a major influence on science fiction art and illustration, and he helped inspire the American space program. He is known as the "Father of Modern Space Art".Bonestell studied architecture at Columbia University in New York City. Dropping out in his third year, he worked as a renderer and designer for several of the leading architectural firms of the time. While with William van Alen, he designed the art deco façade of the Chrysler Building as well as its distinctive gargoyles[citation needed]. During this same period, he designed the Plymouth Rock Memorial, the U.S. Supreme Court Building, the New York Central Building, Manhattan office and apartment buildings and several state capitols.[1]

Chesley William Carter: was a Canadian Member of Parliament representing the riding of Burin—Burgeo and a senator for Grand Bank, Newfoundland and Labrador.In 1941 he joined the Canadian Army to fight in World War II and discharged with the rank of Major in 1946. Carter entered politics in 1949, following Newfoundland's entry into Canadian Confederation, and was elected to the House of Commons as a Liberal in the 1949 federal election. Solomon Yeomans Chesley: was a public servant and political figure in Canada West.He served during the War of 1812, becoming lieutenant of the St Regis Company of Indian Warriors in 1814.
