Muthulakshmi Reddy: was an eminent medical practitioner, social reformer and Padma Bhushan awardee in India. In spite of various constraints faced by girls in India of her time, she could complete her higher education, and was admitted into medical profession. In 1907, she joined the Madras Medical College, where she achieved a brilliant academic record. With several gold medals and prizes to her credit, Muthulakshmi graduated in 1912 to become one of the first woman doctors in India. Soon thereafter, she came under the influence of Annie Besant, and then of Mahatma Gandhi.

Perugu Siva Reddy: was a renowned eye surgeon from Andhra Pradesh, India.He completed his M.B.B.S. degree in 1946 from Madras University and specialised as an ophthalmologist by obtaining his [[|Master of Surgery|M.S.]] degree in Ophthalmology in 1952 from Andhra University. Dr. Yaga Venugopal Reddy: a former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) (India's central bank). He took over from Bimal Jalan on 6 September 2003.[1]. He was succeeded by Duvvuri Subbarao on 5 September 2008.Reddy is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1964 batch. Prior to joining the IAS, he worked as a lecturer from 1961. He holds a Ph.D. from Osmania University, Hyderabad, and was a visiting faculty member at the Osmania University and the London School of Economics. In 1996, he was appointed deputy governor of RBI. He has also worked with the International Monetary Fund, the highest position being Executive Director in 2002.
