Lakshman Kadirgamar: was a Sri Lankan diplomat, politician and lawyer. After a distinguished career as a lawyer and international humanitarian, he was appointed as foreign minister of Sri Lanka in 1994 by President Chandrika Kumaratunga. He achieved international prominence in this position due to his wide ranging condemnation of the LTTE and his efforts to have them banned internationally. He served as Foreign Minister until 2001, and then again from April 2004 until his assassination in August 2005, which was carried out allegedly by an LTTE sniper team [1] when he was 73.[2] The suspects arrested in his murder case were released after no evidence was found after over 2 years in custody.[3]

Lakshman De Alwis: was the National coach for Athletics in Sri Lanka.[1] De Alwis started his career in Athletics when was a school boy at Moratuwa Vidyalaya and in 1958 awarded as Junior National Champion for Athletics after winning the 100m and 200m events. He also represented Sri Lanka in 1959 for the All-India meet.
