Gautam Gambhir: is an Indian opening batsman. He has been a member of the Indian national cricket team since 2003 (ODIs) and 2004 (Tests). Gambhir had been a prolific run-scorer in domestic cricket with an average of over 50 but his two successive double-hundreds in 2002 (one of them against the visiting Zimbabweans) made him a strong contender for India's opening slot. He became only the fourth Indian batsman to score a double century in a tour game at home; the previous three being Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar and Sachin Tendulkar.

He was also a medical doctor and a gold medalist.Goswami was eulogized as a young hero for his supervision of relief efforts after floods hit Bihar,India.[1]. It is now alleged, however, that throughout, Goswami allegedly channelled government money set aside for flood relief into a labyrinth of private accounts.[2] The Indian Express first started reporting on possible misappropriations in 2004. These investigative reports soon caused a backlash against the officer.

From 1962 to 1994, he was associated with the Weaver's Service Centre, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India in various posts, and retired as Director, Coordination and Design Exports for the Centres and Indian Institutes of Handloom Technology. The W.S.C's had artists working closely with weavers for the development of modern textile designs, and Vaghela here developed deep interactions with artists like K.G. Subramanyan, Prabhakar Barwe and Ambadas.
