Bhanu Bandyopadhyay: was born as Samyamoy Bandyopadhyay on 26 August 1920 at Dhaka. Having studied at St Gregory's High School (Dhaka) followed by Jagannath college (Dhaka) , he moved to Kolkata just before partition. In his initial years he took up a job with the Steel Control Board. Bhanu Bandyopadhyay has acted in over 300 movies with 'Bhanu Goenda Johar Assistant' , 'Bhrantibilash' , 'Pasher Badi' and 'Share chuattor' , just to name a few. He was also prominent on the Jatra scene and started his career there with Sushil Natto Company. He also had his own group called Mukto Mancha. He will always be remembered for his unparalled sense of humor and 'Bangal accent'. He died on 4 March 1983.
