Wladyslaw Jerzy Engel: was a Polish footballer and coach. Engel began his career in football at an early age playing at local club Junak Wloclawek, before moving to Polonia Warszawa (1975-76), Hutnik Warszawa (1976-77) and several other clubs.Engel, nicknamed "Jurek", began playing in midfield or attack before, at the age of 22, being cruelly forced to cut his career short because of injury. With spirits dampened only slightly, he immediately turned to coaching and took over at Polonia Warsaw in the 1976/1977 season.

During World War II, participated in secret games in Kraków, as the Germans occupiers banned Poles from playing all sports. In 1945 he moved to Cracovia, where played until 1953, winning Championships of Poland in 1948.

Kawula played for Pradniczanka Kraków, Wisla Kraków, White Eagles Chicago, Victoria Jaworzno and Kalwarianka Kalwaria over the course of his career. He died February 1, 2008 aged 70.[1]Kawula joined Wisla Kraków in 1951, at the young age of 20-years-old and went on to score 26 goals in 329 appearances, which is still a club record to date.

Wladyslaw Taczanowski: was a Polish zoologist.A member of an old noble (szlachta) magnate family from the Poznan region, Taczanowski is considered one of the most important European zoologists of the nineteenth century. Trained in Paris, he worked at museums in Vienna, Berlin, Paris and London and was curator of the zoological department of the Warsaw University Museum from 1862 (when he succeeded Feliks Pawel Jarocki) until his death. Taczanowski took part in an expedition to Algeria with Antoni S. Waga (1866-67) and wrote several significant studies including Birds of Poland (1882) and Ornithology of Peru (1884-86).
