Stephanus Abraham "Stef" Blok: is a Dutch politician of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). He has been a Member of the House of Representatives since September 3, 2002 previously from August 25, 1998 until May 23, 2002. He is the Parliamentary leader in the House of Representatives since October 14, 2010. Blok was born on December 10, 1964 in Emmeloord in the Netherlands Province Flevoland. After attending Stedelijk Gymnasium Leiden he studied Administration of business at the University of Groningen from 1977 until 1983. He worked for ABN AMRO from 1989 until 1998 when he was elected as a Member of the House of Representatives for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy for which he has been a member since 1988.

He gained international renown as the face of Boer resistance against the British during the South African or Second Boer War (1899-1902).According to tradition Kruger was born at Bulhoek, his grandfather's farm was approximately 15 km west of the town of Steynsburg and 100 km to the north of Cradock in the Eastern Cape Province, and grew up on the farm Vaalbank.
