Stanislaw Stempowski: was a Polish-Ukrainian politician and Grand Master of the National Grand Lodge of Poland.After World War I, Stanislaw Stempowski served as the minister in several cabinets of the Ukrainian People's Republic (UNR) in 1920, headed by Isaak Mazepa, Viacheslav Prokopovych, and Andriy Livytskyi. He was also a minister in the government of the UNR in exile, until January 1922.[1]In the end of 1921, he entered Masonry, and was a Grand Master of the National Grand Lodge of Poland (1926-1928). He left Masonry on March 19, 1938, fearing the anti-Masonic policy of the Polish government.[2]

Stanislaw Stronski: was a Polish philologist, publicist and politician (a National Democracy Sejm deputy). In interwar Poland he edited the Rzeczpospolita newspaper and was a professor at Kraków's Jagiellonian University and at the Catholic University of Lublin. During World War II he was a member of the Polish government in exile. At war's end, he remained abroad.It was Stronski who coined the expression, "Miracle at the Vistula," intended to derogate Pilsudski's 1920 victory over the Soviets.[1] Ironically, the expression quickly lost its intended meaning and was adopted with approval by some patriotically- or piously-minded Poles unaware of Stronski's ironic intent.[2]

Stanislaw Tarnowski: was a Polish noble (szlachcic), historian, literary critic, publicist.During the January Uprising Tarnowski was connected with the "Biali" (liberal-conservative political faction). He was imprisoned from 1863 to 1865 by the Austrian authorities. He was co-author of the "Teka Stanczyka" (1868). From 1867 Tarnowski served as member of the Sejm in Galicia. In 1885 he became a member of the Herrenhaus in Vienna. From 1871 until 1909 professor and two times rector at the Jagiellonian University. In 1873 member and from 1890 to 1917 chairman of the Akademia Umiejetnosci (Polish Academy of Learning).

Stanislaw August Thugutt: was a Polish activist and politician during the interwar period of the (Second Polish Republic). He was the founder and leader of several peasant parties (particularly the PSL Wyzwolenie). Earlier he was a soldier in the Polish Legions. Later he was the Minister of Internal Affairs (1918-1919), and vice-Prime Minister (1924-1925). After the Invasion of Poland, Thugutt escaped to Sweden, where he died in exile.

Stanislaw Zakrzewski: was a Polish historian. He was a professor of Lviv University (since 1907), member of Polish Academy of Learning (since 1919), chairman of Polish Historical Society (1923–1932; 1934–1936), senator from Non-partisan Bloc for Cooperation with the Government (1928–1935). Zakrzewski was associated with National Democracy, then with Józef Pilsudski.Zakrzewski was a researcher of political issues of Poland from 10th to 13th century. He was an author of critical studies of medieval sources. His notable works includes Mieszko I jako budowniczy panstwa polskiego [Mieszko I as a builder of Polish country] (1922), Boleslaw Chrobry Wielki (1925).

Jan Stanislawski: was a Polish modernist painter, art professor, originator and member of various art groups and societies.He began to learn painting in the so called Drawing Class (which later gave rise to the School of Fine Arts) in Warsaw under Wojciech Gerson. In 1883, he enrolled in the School of Fine Arts in Kraków. In 1885, he continued his studies in Paris under Charles Emile Auguste Durand. While based in Paris, he travelled much, visiting Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and also Ukraine.His early works were exhibited at the inauguration of the Salon du Champ-de-Mars in Paris in 1890 and at the Friends of the Arts Society in Kraków in 1892. In the 1990s, he travelled extensively and his sketchbooks filled up with drawings from Berlin, Dresden, Prague, Kraków, and various places in Ukraine. Together with Julian Falat, he painted the landscape parts of Napoleon’s Army Crossing the Berezina, a panorama by Wojciech Kossak.
