Spyridon Ferentinos: was a Greek Olympic fencer. He competed in the individual and team foil events at the 1936 Summer Olympics.

Spyridon Lambros: was a Greek history professor and, briefly, Prime Minister of Greece. After 1903, Lambros started an academic movement called Neos Hellenomnemon which studied the scientific and philosophical developments of the Greek-speaking world during the Byzantine and Ottoman eras.

Spyridon Merkouris: was a Greek politician and long-time mayor of Athens in the early 20th century. he held the post continuously until 1914. As a committed royalist, in 1917, during the National Schism, he was exiled to Corsica. He was also accused of complicity in the riots of the Noemvriana of 1916, and was sentenced to death. Released from prison in 1920, he was elected as an MP for Attica-Boeotia in 1928 and re-elected as mayor of Athens in 1929. He served as mayor until 1932, and died in 1939. His son Stamatis was also an MP, whilst his granddaughter was the actress and later Minister of Culture, Melina Merkouri.

Spyridon Stais            Origin/Culture/Country: Greek

Spyridon Stais: was a Greek politician from the island of Kythera. He studied physics and mathematics and served as a teacher in gymnasia (secondary schools) of Greece. He became active in politics in 1892, joining first the party of Charilaos Trikoupis and later (after Trikoupis’ death) the Modernist Party of Georgios Theotokis.[1] He served as a member of parliament, as Minister for Education under prime minister Theotokis (in 1900 and again in 1903), as Minister of the Interior (1921–1922) under Dimitrios Gounaris and finally as general governor of Thessaloniki (1922) under Petros Protopapadakis.[2]

Spyridon-Filiskos Samaras: was a Greek composer particularly admired for his operas who was part of the generation of composers that heralded the works of Giacomo Puccini. His compositions were praised worldwide during his lifetime and he is arguably the most internationally lauded Greek composer before Dimitri Mitropoulos.
