David Soyer: is an American cellist.Chamber music has been a special love of his. He was a founding member of the Guarneri Quartet in 1964 and played with them until retiring from the quartet in 2002. As a member of the Guarneri he collaborated with many of the world's most famous classical musicians including Leonard Rose, the Budapest String Quartet, Pinchas Zukerman, and Artur Rubinstein. He gave the New York premiere of the solo cello sonata by Zoltán Kodály at The Town Hall in Manhattan. Additionally, he also gave the New York premiere of the sonata for solo cello by American composer George Crumb. Before joining the quartet he played in various venues including the Army Band during World War II and later with the NBC Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Arturo Toscanini. He currently lives in New York City.

He also wrote several books on his life and art.

He worked as a member of Republican Turkish Party for a long time, recently holding the party office of secretary-general. Soyer was elected as the new Chairman of the Republican Turkish Party on 21 May 2005, replacing President Talat who vacated his position after taking over the presidency.
