League side Kawasaki Frontale.He started playing football at the junior youth setup of Japan Soccer League side Nissan F.C. (current Yokohama F. Marinos). Then he played for and was educated at Kanagawa Prefectural Yokosuka High School and Tokai University. At the university, he contribute to the Japan team winning the 18th Universiade football competition held in Fukuoka in 1995.
