Shohei Ooka: was a Japanese novelist, literary critic, and translator of French literature active in Showa period Japan. Ooka belongs to the group of postwar writers whose World War II experiences at home and abroad figure prominently in their works. Over his lifetime, he contributed short stories and critical essays to almost every literary magazine in Japan.Ooka was born in the Magome Ward of Tokyo. His parents were from Wakayama prefecture, and his father was a stock broker. He graduated from Kyoto Imperial University School of Literature. Raised to study literature from early childhood, he mastered French while in high school. His parents also hired the famed literary critic Kobayashi Hideo to be his tutor. Under Kobayashi's instruction, be became acquainted with poet Nakahara Chuya, the critic Kawakami Tetsutaro, and other literary figures.

Shohei Baba: was a professional wrestler and co-founder of All Japan Pro Wrestling. He was also known as Giant Baba. Baba, along with Antonio Inoki, became one of the most famous Japanese wrestlers of his era, with a popularity in Japan comparable to Hulk Hogan's in the United States of America. He was also a 3 time NWA Champion.Before entering professional wrestling he had been a professional baseball pitcher for the Yomiuri Giants. It was around this time when national wrestling hero and owner of the Japanese Wrestling Association Mitsuhiro Momota Sr. - better known as Rikidozan - began to feel the time was right for him to start grooming a successor in order to keep business strong. In April 1960 Baba began training in Rikidozan's dojo along with fellow student Kanji Inoki. The two trained together under Rikidozan and made their debuts on September 30th, 1960 at the old Daito Ku Gymnasium in Tokyo where Baba beat Yonetaro Tanaka and Inoki, renamed Antonio
