Thomas Say: was an American naturalist, entomologist, malacologist and carcinologist. He was a taxonomist and is often considered to be the father of descriptive entomology in the United States and one of the founding fathers of the Entomological Society of America (ESA). ESA maintains several series of publications and awards that are named after Say.Say became an apothecary in his native town, but his interests soon turned to nature and he became a self-taught naturalist. In 1812 he became a charter member and founder of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia (ANSP).

Jean-Baptiste Say: was a French economist and businessman. He had classically liberal views and argued in favour of competition, free trade and lifting restraints on business. He originated Say's law, which is often quoted incorrectly as "supply creates its own demand".Say was intended to follow a commercial career, and was sent, with his brother Horace, to England: here he lived first in Croydon, in the house of a merchant, to whom he acted as clerk, and afterwards in London, where he was in the service of another employer. When, on the death of the latter, he returned to France, he was employed in the office of a life assurance company directed by Étienne Clavière.

Rick Say: is a Canadian swimmer. Say swam as a child for the Salmon Arm Sockeye Swim Club with his two brothers and two sisters. At the age of 18, he began attending the University of Victoria and started to swim seriously. As of 2006, he swims full-time at the Pacific-Sport National Training Centre in Victoria. He was born in Salmon Arm, British Columbia.

Fazil Say: a Turkish pianist and composer.Fazil Say studied piano and composition at the Ankara State Conservatory. At the age of seventeen, he was awarded a German Academic Exchange Service scholarship that enabled him to study for five years with David Levine at the Robert Schumann Institute in Düsseldorf, Germany. From 1992 to 1995, he continued his studies at the Berlin Conservatory. In 1995, he was the winner of the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, which gave a rapid start to his international career.
