Salome Gluecksohn-Waelsch: was a German-born U.S. geneticist and co-founder of developmental genetics.She studied under Hans Spemann at the University of Freiburg before escaping from Nazi Germany as a Jew. She went on to become a lecturer at Columbia University and a professor of Molecular Genetics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine for 45 years. Gluecksohn-Waelsch became an overseas member of the Royal Society in 1995.Gluecksohn-Waelsch received her doctorate in Spemann's laboratory, bringing embryological acumen to Leslie Dunn's genetics laboratory. Salome, along with Conrad Hal Waddington, attempted to find mutations that affected early development and discover the processes that these genes affected. Her research showed that mutations in the Brachyury gene of the mouse caused the aberrant development of the posterior portion of the embryo and she traced the effects of this mutant gene to the otochord, which would normally have helped induce the dorsal-ventral axis. She died a month after her 100th birthday.[

Salomé Zourabichvili: is a Georgian politician, former Foreign Minister of Georgia and a former diplomat in the French service.She was sacked by Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli late on 19 October 2005 after a series of disputes with members of Parliament [1]. She had also been heavily criticized by a number of Georgian ambassadors. Shortly before her dismissal was announced, Zourabichvili resigned from the French foreign service, which had continued to pay her a salary while she was minister, and announced that she would remain in Georgia to go into politics.

Théodore-César Salomé: was a French organist and composer. In 1863, the architect Théodore Ballu began the construction of the Église de la Sainte-Trinité in Paris. (He had already built the Basilique Sainte-Clotilde in 1861 and would construct the Hôtel de Ville (City Hall) of Paris some ten years later). Situated in the 9th arrondissement of Paris on Estienne-d'Orves Square, Sainte-Trinité was blessed in November 1867. It was not consecrated, however, until 1913, the eve of World War I.
