William Ryerson Origin/Culture/Country: American
William Ryerson: was a Methodist minister and political figure in Canada West. He was active in attempting to establish missions and schools for native people. In 1830, with his brother John, he was a member of committee to establish the Upper Canada Academy, which later became Victoria College. He served with the militia that put down the Upper Canada Rebellion, but also pleaded against the death penalty for the rebel leaders. In 1861, he was elected in West Brant but he was defeated in 1863 and retired from politics.
George Sterling Ansel Ryerson Origin/Culture/Country: American
George Sterling Ansel Ryerson: was an Ontario physician, businessman and political figure. He represented Toronto in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1893 to 1898 as a Conservative and then Conservative-Protestant Protective Association member. He was elected to the legislative assembly in an 1893 by-election and reelected in 1894. He did not run in 1898 due to poor health. In 1896, Ryerson helped establish the United Empire Loyalist Association of Ontario. In 1902, he failed to secure nomination by the Conservative Party when he attempted to run for election in Toronto North.

Robert Edwy Ryerson: was a Conservative member of the Canadian House of Commons. He was born in Brant County, Canada West and became a grocer and merchant. He was first elected to Parliament at the Brantford City riding in the 1925 general election and re-elected there in 1926 and 1930. Ryerson was defeated in the 1935 federal election by William Ross Macdonald of the Liberal party.
John K. Ryerson Origin/Culture/Country: American
John K. Ryerson: was a merchant and political figure in Nova Scotia, Canada. He represented Yarmouth County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1867 to 1871 and from 1872 to 1874 as a Liberal member. He was also a member of the board of governors for Yarmouth Seminary and a director of the Atlantic Marine Insurance Company. Ryerson served as a captain in the Yarmouth Naval Brigade and was also a justice of the peace. He ran unsuccessfully for reelection in 1871 but was elected again in an 1872 by-election held after William H. Townsend resigned his seat due to poor health.
