Amir Rešic was raised in Bosnia, but after his studies he moved to Kruševac (in Serbia when still in Yugoslavia). He later converted from Islam to Serbian Orthodoxy and changed his Muslim name Amir to the Christian Nikola (Nicholas Nino, Serbian: ??????, ????), possibly because his wife is Serbian Orthodox. After divorcing his wife he converted back to Islam on 2004 and changed his name to Amir. Nino died from pancreas perforation caused by prolonged alcoholism on Friday Oct 19, 2007.
