Nikolaos Makros: was a Greek soldier and politician. He was the son of Dimitrios Makris, a military leader during the Greek War of Independence of 1821. He entered the Greek Army. He was sent to France for training. After his return, he participated in the Greco-Turkish War of 1897 where he fought in the area of Taratsa (a village of Lamia) and won there.

Nikolaos Politis: was a Greek diplomat of the Interwar period. He was a professor of law by training, and prior to the First World War taught law at Paris University. He served as Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs on 1916-1920 and again in 1922. Also served as Greek representative to the League of Nations. In 1929 promoted a resolution at the League disarmament commission that enabled the commission to continue its work.[1]

Nikolaos Stratos: was a Prime Minister of Greece for a few days in May, 1922. He was later tried and executed for his role in the Catastrophe of 1922. In 1922, Greece was in turmoil as the war in Asia Minor was ending in a massive defeat. When Prime Minister Dimitrios Gounaris almost lost a vote of confidence, he resigned on May 16, 1922 and King Constantine I asked Stratos to form a government. Stratos ultimately deferred to Petros Protopapadakis who successfully formed a government a few days later.

Nikolaos Vilaetis: was a chief of Pyrgos and a Greek politician. He descended from a famous family of Pyrgos in which he was one of the first who inhabited the area. He was the cousin of Yiannis and brother of Haralambos. He was the chief of Pyrgos and was elected as an attorney of Ilia in the First National Council, in December 1821, months after the start of the Greek War of Independence, he later entered politics.
