Nicolaus Michael Oppel            Origin/Culture/Country: German

Nicolaus Michael Oppel: was a German naturalist. He was a student of, and worked as an assistant to, André Marie Constant Duméril at the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle in Paris, France, cataloging and classifying species of reptile. In 1811 he published a book entitled Die Ordnungen, Familien und Gattungen der Reptilien als Prodrom einer Naturgeschichte derselben, or The Orders, Families, and Types of Reptiles... in which he estabslished the order, squamata, and the families cheloniidae, colubridae, and the subfamily crotalinae, as well as several genera which are still in use by taxonomists today.

Nicolaus Rossini: was a famous Polish painter killed by Nazis during World War II. Since his youth age his paintings were exhibited in many different galleries all around Poland. His paintings are well known in Italy, where his father came from. Rossini's work was non-schematic. He made his own style - that's one of the reasons why his painting now fetch high prices. However, he is not so much remembered as an artist, but as a hero. During World War II he helped many Jewish orphans survive.

Nicolaus Mulerius: was a professor of medicine and mathematics at the University of Groningen.Mulerius was born Nicolaas des Mulier(s), son of Pierre des Muliers and Claudia Le Vettre. He grew up in Bruges, where he was taught by Cruquius, among others. From 1582 he studied medicine at the University of Leiden, where Lipsius, Vulcanius, Snellius and Heurnius were teachers. In 1589 he married Christina Six and set up practice for 13 years in Harlingen.

Nicolaus Bruhns            Origin/Culture/Country: German

Nicolaus Bruhns: was one of the greatest organists and composers of his time. He studied with Dieterich Buxtehude, who regarded him as among the very best of his students. With Buxtehude's help, he received a post as violinist and composer at the court in Copenhagen, and in 1689 became the town organist in Husum, Germany, his last post before his tragic early death (sources disagree on whether he was 31 or 32 at the time).

Nicolaus A. Huber: is a German composer. From 1958 to 1962 Huber studied music education at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and subsequently composition with Franz Xaver Lehner and Günter Bialas. He pursued his education further with Josef Anton Riedl, Karlheinz Stockhausen and, above all, with Luigi Nono. From 1974 until his retirement in 2003 Huber was Professor of Composition at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen (Orgass 2001).

Prince Frederick Charles was a grandson of King Frederick William III of Prussia and a nephew of Frederick William IV and William I. He was born at Schloss Klein in Berlin.rederick Charles was under the military tutelage of then major Albrecht von Roon, who accompagnied the Prince to the University of Bonn in 1846. After his studies, the Prince served as a captain on Wrangel's staff during the Schleswig campaign of 1848.
