Michalis Chrysohoïdis: is a Greek politician, member of the Greek Parliament for the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) and the current Minister for Regional Development and Competitiveness. In 1974 Chrysohoidis joined the PASOK party. ?e served as prefect of Karditsa in the period 1987-1989. He has been an elected member of the Greek parliaments in all elections since June 1989, the period June 1989-2004 in the Imathia constituency and since 2007 at the Athens B constituency.

Michalis gained a degree in Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue, and Music Composition from the Hellenic Conservatory. Moreover, he studied Greek folk instruments such as Constantinople lute, tampoura, bouzouki, tzoura, baglama. Currently, he is a PhD candidate (ABD) at the Music Department of the University of Athens, and a PhD student in composition at the Music Department of the University of Calgary. [1]
