As the manic host of NBC's Texaco Star Theater from 1948–1955, he was the first major star of television and as such became known as Uncle Miltie or Mr. Television to millions during TV's golden age.Berle appeared as a child actor in silent films, beginning with The Perils of Pauline (1914), filmed in Fort Lee, New Jersey, with Pearl White.[1] The director told Berle that he would portray a little boy who would be thrown from a moving train. In Milton Berle: An Autobiography (1975), he explained, "I was scared shitless, even when he went on to tell me that Pauline would save my life. Which is exactly what happened, except that at the crucial moment they threw a bundle of rags instead of me from the train. I bet there are a lot of comedians around today who are sorry about that."

Mendes Antonio Canale: was an accountant , lawyer , businessman and politician Brazilian , who was mayor of Campo Grande and Senator the states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul . In October 1950 , he was elected state representative for the PSD in Mato Grosso, was reelected in 1954 as deputy of the state with the most votes. In October 1958 , he was elected deputy for congressman , also by the PSD, having occupied the chair three times, temporarily. He was mayor of Campo Grande 1963 to 1967 , starting the construction of the channel Marazion in order to control the periodic flooding. With the end of bipartisanship , joined the ARENA . Between 1967 and 1968 , was chief of staff to Governor Peter Pedrossian . From 1970 to 1973 , was again mayor of Campo Grande. In November 1974 , he was elected senator from Mato Grosso, competing for ARENA, defeating the candidate of the MDB , Vicente Bezerra Neto. On June 29th of 1987 , took the Senate seat, with the resignation of the holder, who was elected governor. In June 1988 , left the PMDB and was a founder of the PSDB .
