Margaritis Schinas: He studied Law at the University of Thessaloniki, Public Administration and Policy at the London School of Economics and European Administration Studies at the College of Europe in Bruges. He was awarded the Robert Schuman fellowship by the European Parliament. He worked at the European Commission since 1990 in various positions of responsibility mainly in the private offices of Commissioners. He also served as Head of Press and Information in the Commission Representation in Greece (1994-9). During his EU career, he has worked on various issues, such as transport, energy, information, culture and communication, consumers and public health. During the Prodi Commission he was Deputy Head of Cabinet to Commission Vice-President Loyola de Palacio, in charge of transport and energy.
