Robert Lea MacMillan: is a former professional ice hockey right winger who played in the NHL for 11 seasons from 1974–75 until 1984–85.Upon his retirement, MacMillan returned to Charlottetown to coach Senior hockey. After two years behind the bench he made a brief comeback to the ice when he dressed for two games with the Charlottetown Islanders in the 1987-88 season and scored four points.

Alexander S. MacMillan: was a Nova Scotia politician and businessman, the provinces 13th Premier.He was a member of Nova Scotia's appointed Upper House, the Legislative Council from 1925 until 1928 when he won a seat in the province's House of Assembly as a Liberal. He again became minister of highways in 1933. In 1940, when Premier Angus L. Macdonald went to Ottawa to serve in the wartime cabinet of William Lyon Mackenzie King, MacMillan became premier in his place. He retired as premier and from politics in 1945 to allow Macdonald to resume his provincial career.

Normand MacMillan: is a Quebec politician, businessman and insurance agent. He is the current MNA for the riding of Papineau in the Outaouais region. He represents the Quebec Liberal Party for that riding since 1989 and the government's Chief Whip since 2005 and a former President of the Caucus Chair from 2003 to 2005. Prior to his political career, MacMillan worked as an insurance agent between 1969 and 1972. He was also the owner of a hotel from 1972 to 1983 and the co-owner of Nord MacMillan Inc. in 2003 which operates the same hotel business. He was also the Chair of the Economic Development Committee for the region and also a city councillor for the former city of Buckingham in the 1980s. MacMillan entered provincial politics as he was elected MNA for Papineau in a by-election in 1989 although he was a member of the Liberal Party since 1980. Since then he was re-elected in 1994, 1998, 2003 and 2007. After being briefly the president of the government's caucus, he was named the government's chief whip in 2005. He never held a Minister's portfolio during his 18-year career, nor was he a Parliamentary Secretary for any Ministers.
