Normand MacMillan: is a Quebec politician, businessman and insurance agent. He is the current MNA for the riding of Papineau in the Outaouais region. He represents the Quebec Liberal Party for that riding since 1989 and the government's Chief Whip since 2005 and a former President of the Caucus Chair from 2003 to 2005. Prior to his political career, MacMillan worked as an insurance agent between 1969 and 1972. He was also the owner of a hotel from 1972 to 1983 and the co-owner of Nord MacMillan Inc. in 2003 which operates the same hotel business. He was also the Chair of the Economic Development Committee for the region and also a city councillor for the former city of Buckingham in the 1980s. MacMillan entered provincial politics as he was elected MNA for Papineau in a by-election in 1989 although he was a member of the Liberal Party since 1980. Since then he was re-elected in 1994, 1998, 2003 and 2007. After being briefly the president of the government's caucus, he was named the government's chief whip in 2005. He never held a Minister's portfolio during his 18-year career, nor was he a Parliamentary Secretary for any Ministers.

Frank Roland MacMillan: was a prominent businessman and politician in Saskatoon. MacMillan was elected to Saskatoon city council as an alderman in 1913 and became Mayor of Saskatoon in 1919. A Conservative, he ran for the Saskatoon federal seat in the Canadian House of Commons in the 1925 and 1926 federal elections without success before winning a seat in the 1930 federal election that also elected a Tory government under R.B. Bennett. As an MP, MacMillan served on the House of Commons' Railway Committee and was instrumental in persuading the federal government to contribute to the construction of the 19th Street and Broadway Bridge as relief projects during the Great Depression as well as the C.P. Bridge at Borden. He did not run in the 1935 federal election.

Duncan Macmillan: was a lawyer, judge and political figure in Ontario, Canada. He represented Middlesex East in the Canadian House of Commons from 1875 to 1887 as a Liberal-Conservative member. He was elected to the House of Commons in an 1875 by-election held after Crowell Willson was unseated. In 1873, he was named a judge in the court for Haldimand County.

William Joseph Parnell MacMillan: was a physician and Prince Edward Island politician. After running a medical practice for several years, MacMillan entered politics in 1923 winning a seat in the provincial legislative assembly as a Conservative. In 1932 he became the province's first minister of health and education. As minister he rebuilt Prince of Wales College and the Provincial Mental Hospital which had both been destroyed by fire. He also secured a Carnegie Foundation endowment that enabled the government to establish a provincial library system.

Angus D. MacMillan: was a merchant and political figure on Prince Edward Island. He represented 4th Queens in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1882 to 1884 as a Liberal.
