Dettlieb Christopher Jessen: was a German-born judge and political figure in Nova Scotia. His first name also appears as Detleff. He represented Lunenburg County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1785 to 1793. He was also a justice of the peace, a judge in the Inferior Court of Common Pleas, registrar of deeds and a customs collector. Jessen married Francisca Barbara Rudolf in 1755. He died in Lunenburg at the age of 84.

Børge Christian Jessen: was a Danish mathematician best known for his work in analysis, specifically on zeta function, and in geometry, specifically on Hilbert's third problem. Jessen was a professor of descriptive geometry at Technical University of Denmark from 1935 till 1942, when he moved back to the University of Copenhagen where he was professor from 1942-1977 when he retired. He was the president of the Carlsberg Foundation in 1955-1963 and one of the founders of the Hans Christian Ørsted Institute. He was the Secretary of the Interim Executive Committee of the International Mathematical Union (1950–1952) and in September 1951 officially declared founding of the Union, with its first domicile in Copenhagen. He was also active at the Danish Mathematical Society. After his death, the society named an award in his honor (Børge Jessen Diploma Award).

Carl Wilhelm Jessen: was a Danish naval officer and Governor of St Thomas in the Danish West Indies. Jessen became a naval cadet in 1776. He was commissioned as a junior lieutenant in the navy in 1782, and then was promoted senior lieutenant in 1789, commander in 1796, captain in 1803, senior captain in 1810, and commodore in 1815. He left naval service as a rear admiral in 1822. He then became Governor of the island of St Thomas in the Danish West Indies.
