Jerzy Czeszejko-Sochacki: was a socialist, later communist politician in Poland and an early victim of Stalinist repression. He joined the Polish Socialist Party in 1914, and the Communist Party of Poland (KPP) in 1921. From 1921-33 he was a member and alternate member of the KPP Central Committee, and from 1929-33 sat on its politburo. A member of the Polish Parliament (Sejm). KPP representative to the Communist International executive from 1930 and a deputy member of its Presidium from 1931. He was arrested in Moscow on 15 August 1933. He committed suicide on 4 September 1933, according to one version by jumping from a bridge over the prison courtyard, and according to another by jumping from the window of the room where he was being interrogated and tortured. He left a note, written in his own blood, proclaiming his innocence and undying loyalty to the communist party.

Jerzy Janusz Kropiwnicki: is a Polish right-wing politician, member of Law and Justice party.He was leader of small party Christian-National Union (Zjednoczenie Chrzescijansko-Narodowe, ZChN). He has been a president of the city of Lódz since 2002. On November 2006 he was reelected for the office of president of the city of Lódz.

Jerzy Jan Lerski: was a Polish lawyer, soldier, historian, political scientist and politician. After World War II he emigrated to the United States, where he became a professor at the University of San Francisco.During the Polish September Campaign he fought at the battle of Brzesc Litewski (holding the rank of podchorazy). Taken prisoner by the Soviet Army during the Soviet invasion, he managed to escape from a train transport. He joined the anti-Soviet resistance, but with the NKVD actively looking for him he escaped into Hungary to France, joining the Polish Armed Forces in the West; after the fall of France evacuated to United Kingdom. In 1941 after taking the commando course he became a "cichociemny", and having been parachuted to occupied Poland in February 1943 he served as one of the couriers for the Polish Government in Exile - individuals who risked their life moving between the Polish exiled government in London and the Polish Secret State in occupied Poland. After collecting information from the Secret State he returned to London.

Jerzy Putrament: was a Polish writer, poet, editor, publicist and politician.In the People's Republic of Poland, he became a writer, publishing many works supporting the ideals of communism, and a politician. He became an editor of two literary journals (Miesiecznik Literacki from 1966 to 1971 and Literatura from 1955 to 1968), and as such he had significant influence on Polish cultural policy.[2] He was a Polish ambassador to Switzerland from 1945 to 1947[2], an ambassador to France from 1947 to 1950,[2] a deputy to the Polish Parliament from 1952 to 1961,[2] and eventually member of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers Party from 1964 to 1981).[2]

Jerzy Rutkowski: was a Polish political activist and resistance soldier. During WWII, he joined Polish resistance (Armia Krajowa) and was the head of the underground press operation, the Tajne Wojskowe Zaklady Wydawnicze, throughout its operations, from 1940 to 1945. His son Michal Rutkowski is the Director for Human Development in the South Asia division of the World Bank.
