Harijs Lazdinš: was a Latvian football goalkeeper who played for Olimpija Liepaja and Latvia national football team in 1920s-1930s.Lazdinš made 16 appearances for Latvia national football team, after matches against Poland, Germany and Sweden international football specialists praised him as a European class goalkeeper. The brightest season in his career came in 1936 when he managed to keep his goal shut in half of the games in the Latvian Virsliga and played 5 matches for Latvia as it won four times and played one draw.

Harijs Mellups: was a Latvian football and ice hockey player. He played for Soviet Union national hockey team in its first match. Mellups died in a tragic plane crash aged just 23.In 1948 when Soviet Union made its debut in international hockey as USSR beat Czechoslovakia 6:3, Mellups was in goal in that historic game. In 1949 he transferred to Moscow where he also played both football and hockey on the highest level. Every year from 1947 to Mellups was selected in the symbolic selection of best players of the Soviet ice hockey league. Mellups died in a tragic airplane crash together with Roberts Šulmanis and several other members of Soviet Union national ice hockey team.

Harijs Pikols: was a Latvian footballer, one of the founders of the Olimpija Liepaja football club.In 1921 Pikols was among a group of young Liepaja men who founded one of the best pre-war Latvian football clubs - Olimpija Liepaja. Pikols was a central defender who was known for his very strong shot and who regularly scored from the penalty spot for Olimpija. Pikols also played 5 matches for Latvia national football team.
