Hanoch Bartov: is an Israeli author and opinion writer.Hanoch Bartov was born in Petah Tikva, where he attended first a religious school and then the Achad Haam gymnasium. After two years working in diamond polishing and welding, he enlisted in 1943 (aged 17) in the Palestine Regiment of the British Army. He served for three years in the Jewish Brigade, first in Palestine and then in Italy and the Low Countries.
