Halina Konopacka: (born November 11, 1900 in Rawa Mazowiecka — died January 28, 1989 in Daytona Beach, United States), famous athlete, first Polish Olympic Champion (1928, Amsterdam). She had took part in the Olympic Games in Amsterdam, where she won a gold medal in discus throw breaking her own the world record.

Halina Czerny-Stefanska: was a renowned Polish pianist.She studied piano under her father, Stanislaw Szwarcenberg-Czerny, as well as with Alfred Cortot at the École Normale de Musique in Paris, and later with Józef Turczynski and Zbigniew Drzewiecki in Warsaw. She was a joint First Prize winner at the International Frederick Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 1949, sharing this prize with Bella Davidovich. Her repertoire was restricted to few composers other than Frédéric Chopin and even her Chopin repertoire was not large. For example, she did not play the Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor live until 1951, and she never played the F minor concerto at all, as she did not like it. [1]

Halina Krahelska: was a Polish activist, publicist and writer. Member of the Polish Socialist Party, arrested by the Russian authorities and deported to Russia, where she joined the Trudoviks and took part in the Russian Revolution of 1917. Afterwards she returned to independent Poland, where she became a socialist activist, particularly interested in the issues of social welfare (such as maternity leave), and an activist of the Democratic Party (Poland) (SD). She also wrote novels. During WWII she joined the Polish resistance (Armia Krajowa). Arrested by the Germans, she was sent to the Ravensbrück concentration camp, where she died. Before her death, she wrote several works in the concentration camp, some related to her experiences in the camp, others continuing her work as a socialist activist.

Halina Szwarc: was a member of the Polish resistance during the Second World War, working undercover first under the pseudonym Ryszard, then Jacek II. Postwar, she became a professor of medicine in gerontology, and in 1970/1971, the prorector of the Józef Pilsudski University of Physical Education in Warsaw.In 1944, following her return to her home town of Lodz, she was arrested by the Gestapo. She was tortured and condemned to death by firing squad. Fortunately, the sentence was not carried out.
