Gert Aandewiel: a former football (soccer) player from the Netherlands, who was sacked by Sparta Rotterdam on 2007-11-11. He played professional football for FC Volendam (1996-1997), Sparta Rotterdam (1997-1999) and FC Dordrecht (1999). On February 8, 2007, when working as a coach for HFC Haarlem, he was named as the new manager of Sparta Rotterdam to replace Wiljan Vloet at the end of the 2006-2007 season.

Gert Kruys: a former football midfielder from the Netherlands, who played his entire career for FC Utrecht (1978-1988) with one short spell at RKC Waalwijk (1987). He retired in 1988, and soon afterwards became a coach who worked for AGOVV Apeldoorn, Cambuur Leeuwarden, FC Den Bosch, De Graafschap, and FC Dordrecht. His son Rick Kruys is also a professional football player.

Gert Sellheim: was a German-Australian artist. He won the Sulman Prize for his work in 1939.Sellheim was born in Estonia to German parents and studied architecture at universities in Germany before migrating to Western Australia in 1926. He established an architecture and design practice in Melbourne in 1930, and moved to Sydney in 1947. A significant selection of his work was exhibited in the Exhibition of Aboriginal Art and its Application organised by the Australian Museum, Sydney in 1941 and his design for an 'Aboriginal Art' stamp was released in Australia in 1948.

Gert Heinrich Wollheim: was a German painter associated with the New Objectivity, and later an expressionist who worked in America after 1947.He was born in Dresden-Loschwitz and studied at the College of Fine Arts in Weimar from 1911 to 1913. From 1914–1917 he was in military service in World War I, where he was wounded. After the war he lived in Berlin until 1919, when Wollheim, Otto Pankok (whom he had met at the academy in Weimar), Ulfert Lüken, Hermann Hundt and others created an artists' colony in Remels, (East Frisia).At the end of 1919 Wollheim and Pankok went to Düsseldorf and became founding members of the "Young Rhineland" group, which also included Max Ernst, Otto Dix, and Ulrich Leman. Wollheim was one of the artists associated with the art dealer Johanna Ey, and in 1922 he was taken to court over a painting displayed at her gallery. In 1925 he moved to Berlin, and his work began a new phase of coolly objective representation.
