Georgios Versis: was a Greek Olympic fencer. He competed in the individual and team épée events at the 1912 Summer Olympics.

Georgios Nicholas Papanikolaou: was a Greek pioneer in cytology and early cancer detection, and the inventor of the "Pap smear". He studied at the University of Athens where he received his medical degree in 1904. Six years later he received his Ph.D. from the University of Munich, Germany after he had also spent time at the universities of Jena and Freiburg.[1] In 1913 he emigrated to the U.S. in order to work in the department of Pathology of New York Hospital and the Department of Anatomy at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

Georgios Anastassopoulos: is a Greek politician who served as a Member of the European Parliament. Anastassopoulos was educated at the University of Athens where he studied law, and later at King's College London where he studied Comparative European Law. He served three terms as MEP between 1984 and 1999. Between 1989 and 1999, he served four terms as Vice-President of the Assembly and also held office as President of the Parliament's Transport Committee.[1]
