Ferrie Bodde: a Dutch footballer who plays for Swansea City.Bodde started his senior career with Dutch side ADO Den Haag, signing professional forms with them in July 2000 at the age of 18. Bodde spent seven years with the club, playing over 150 games and scoring ten goals. On Jun 13, 2007, Bodde signed for Den Haag's sister club Swansea City for an initial fee of £50,000, rising to £85,000 if the club were promoted. They also negotiated a clause which would see 50% of any future transfer fee Swansea received go to Den Haag.Ferrie made his Swansea City debut against 1st division Swedish side Östersunds FK in a pre-season friendly on July 14, 2007 scoring his first goal helping the Swans win their first game on Swedish soil 5-2, with his competitive debut coming a month later in a League One match against Oldham, which Swansea lost 2-1. His first goal for the club came in a 2-1 win away to Yeovil in October 2007. Bodde was sent off twice during the 2007/08 campaign, once against Doncaster Rovers for a headbutt, the other against Leeds United for an alleged stamp. Despite this he played 33 league matches as Swansea marched to the League One title and promotion to the Football League Championship. He was also included, alongside four of his Swansea City team-mates, in the PFA League One team of the year.

He was appointed to the municipal council for Montreal in 1840 and, in 1841, to the Legislative Council of the Province of Canada. Besides his involvement with politics, he also invested his time in the less fortunate members of the community, helping to aid victims of cholera, mainly new immigrants, and forming a cooperative bakery so that bread could be purchased at reasonable prices.

A founder of the Gore Bank, Ferrie was its second president from 1839 until his death in 1856. He was the first mayor of Hamilton and served in 1847.[2] Ferrie also represented Hamilton in the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada from 1836 to 1841.

Gladstone Mansfield Ferrie: was a Liberal party member of the Canadian House of Commons. He was born in Denver, Colorado, United States and came to Canada in 1906. He attended Mew Hall School in England at Burton on Trent then became a farmer and livestock dealer by career. He was first elected to Parliament at the Mackenzie riding in the 1949 general election by defeating Co-operative Commonwealth Federation incumbent Alexander Malcolm Nicholson. After completing his only term in the House of Commons, he was defeated by Nicholson in the 1953 election.
