Claes Oldenburg: is a sculptor, best known for his public art installations typically featuring very large replicas of everyday objects. Another theme in his work is soft sculpture versions of everyday objects.Oldenburg was born in Stockholm, Sweden, the son of a Swedish diplomat. As a child he and his family moved to United States in 1936, first to New York then, later, to Chicago where he graduated from the Latin School of Chicago. He studied at Yale University from 1946 to 1950, then returned to Chicago where he studied under the direction of Paul Wieghardt at the Art Institute of Chicago until 1954.

Willem Werner Hubert "Willy" Claes: was the eighth Secretary General of NATO and a Belgian politician. He was a member of the Flemish Socialist Party.Claes was foreign minister of Belgium from 1992 until 1994, and secretary general of NATO from 1994 until 1995, when he resigned after the discovery of a bribe of over 50 million Belgian francs that was accepted during contract negotiations with Agusta helicopters during the time he was minister of economic affairs. For that he was convicted in 1998, losing voting rights for five years.Cools had a long and distinguished political career. He was Belgian budget minister from 1968 to 1971, Deputy Prime Minister from 1969 to 1972, head of the Belgian Socialist Party from 1973 to 1978, head of the Parti Socialiste from 1978 to 1981, president of the Walloon Council from 1982 to 1985, and minister of the government of the Walloon Region from 1988 to 1990. He was also given the honorific title of Minister of State (Belgium) in 1983.
