Boleslaw Roja: was an officer of the Polish Legions in World War I, a general, and a politician in the Second Polish Republic. He opposed Józef Pilsudski and his Sanacja regime. After the German invasion of Poland in 1939, he was arrested by the Nazis and died in Sachsenhausen concentration camp.

Boleslaw Wyslouch: was a Polish nobleman[1], peasant advocate, a socialist, a senator and co-establisher of the original Polish Peasants Party.In 1885 Wyslouch moved to Lviv, where together with his wife Maria he ran a monthly newspaper, Przeglad Spoleczny until it was stopped by the Austrian officials in 1887. He then created Przyjaciel Ludu (People's Friend), a new left-wing newspaper which became popular with activists for peasant rights and which became the centre of the popular movement in the Austrian partition[2].

He was born in a family of Polish immigrants, and in 1918, when Poland regained independence, the family moved back to their homeland. However, after a few years, the Napieralas left Poland again, to Lens in France. It was there that Boleslaw for the first time saw cyclists, during Tour de France. Fascinated by them, he decided to take up cycling himself, helped by his famous neighbor, French cyclist Nicolas Frantz.[1]
