Bohdan Tomaszewski            Origin/Culture/Country: Polish

Bohdan Tomaszewski: is a Polish sports journalist, tennis player, sports commentator, and author of several sports books. Called a “legend of Polish sports journalism”, [1] he is a member of the Polish Writers Association, and now, together with son Tomasz, works for TV station Polsat Sport.Tomaszewski attended Warsaw’s High School of Stanislaw Staszic, and began playing tennis in 1936 in Legia Warszawa. He participated in the Warsaw Uprising, as a soldier of the Home Army (nom de guerre “Maly”). After the war, he worked in the Grand Hotel in Sopot, then moved to Szczecin, where worked as a journalist in a local daily, also playing lawn tennis in a team SKT Szczecin. Later on, Tomaszewski began working for Express Wieczorny, and then moved to TV and radio. His radio debut took place in early May 1947, when he commented Davis Cup match Poland - Great Britain in Warsaw.[2]

Bohdan Arct: was a Polish fighter pilot of the Polish Air Force in World War II and writer.Until the fall of Poland at the Beginning of World War II, Arct fought in the Polish Armed forces. Then he escaped to France, and served as a flight instructor in North Africa. After the French capitulation he flew to Great Britain and became a fighter pilot at the beginning of 1941. His training finished, he flew missions in North Africa and England. Promoted to the rank of Squadron Leader of the Royal Air Force in 1944, he took command of the Polish No. 316 Squadron. Later this year he was forced to bail out over Holland due to engine failure. He was interned as a Prisoner of war in the German town of Barth.

Anna Bilinska-Bohdanowicz: was a Polish woman painter, known for her portraits. She was born as Anna Bilinska, a daughter of Polish doctor in Ukraine, where she spent her childhood. She lived with her father in Russia, before studying music and art in Warsaw.She went later to study in the Académie Julian in Paris. She lived in France until 1892, when she married a medicine doctor named Bohdanowicz and she took his name (Anna Bilinska-Bohdanowicz).
