Lambertus Jozef (Bert) Bakker: was a Dutch writer and publisher in the Netherlands. He wrote literary studies, two novels, poetry, and children's books. In World War II he was involved in the Dutch Resistance and assisted in the (illegal at the time) publication of Vrij Nederland. After the war he founded a publishing company under his own name, from which he retired in 1993.[1] In 1953 he founded the literary magazine Maatstaf, which he edited until 1969.

Piet Oege Bakker: was a Dutch journalist and author. He was joint editor for many years of the weekly magazine Elseviers Weekblad.His most famous work was the trilogy written between 1941 and 1946 dealing with the experiences of the street urchin Ciske Vrijmoeth, alias Ciske the Rat. These novels sold in their hundreds of thousands, and later appeared in translation in more than ten other countries. The story has been filmed twice, in 1955 and 1984, and a musical version is planned for October 2007.

Gerbrand Bakker: was an eminent Dutch physician, professor at the University of Groningen.He studied medicine in the universities of Alkmaar, Groningen, and Leiden, He was received doctor at the latter place in 1794. His instructors were the celebrated Dupui, Sandifort, Paradys, and Voltelen. He married Jacoba Johanna Poel on January 4, 1800 at Enkhuizen. He practised first at Edam, and was made a reader in the surgical school at Haarlem in 1806. The next year, he was appointed an ordinary professor at the University of Franeker. In 1811, under the French, he was named to the professorship at Groningen. He was active in the severe epidemic disease which afflicted Groningen in 1826.
