Augustin Marie Morvan: was a French physician, politician, and writer. He is best-known for treating the first recorded case of the eponymous Morvan's syndrome, a rare neurological disorder marked by acute insomnia. Morvan served as a deputy to the French National Assembly that inaugurated the Third Republic in 1871. In Brest, France, where he began his medical studies, the Rue Augustin Morvan and the Hôpital Augustin Morvan are named after him.

In 1815, Bonnetty entered Digne seminary and studied for the priesthood. After completing his philosophical and theological studies, as he was too young to be ordained, he went to Marseilles as a private tutor. He soon felt that his mission was to use science and philosophy in the defense of the Church and to remain a layman.

Pierre-Antoine-Augustin: was a French dramatist and man of letters. With Pierre-Yves Barré he was one of the co-founders of Paris's Théâtre du Vaudeville. He was the son of Pierre-Joseph de Piis, chevalier de Saint-Louis and major to the Cap Français, and as such was intended for service in France's colonial army. However, due to his delicate health, he gave up the military and completed at the collège d'Harcourt the studies he had begun at the Louis le-Grand.

Goswin Joseph Augustin, Baron De Stassart: was a Dutch-Belgian politician. In 1804 he became Auditor in the French State Council, in 1805 he became Intendant in Tirol, and in 1807 he served in the French army in Prussia. In 1810 he became Prefect of the Departments of the Vaucluse and in 1811 of the Estuaries of the Meuse. After the second Austrian restoration he lived on his estate near Namur, until the city of Namur in 1822 sent him to the second chamber of parliament of the Netherlands, where he belonged to the opposition. In 1831 he returned to Belgium, where he became a member of the National Congress and a member of the Provisional Government as well as the Senate. In this position he served seven parliamentary sessions as president of the parliament. In 1834 he was appointed by the government as the governor of Brabant. However in 1838 he had to resign both. In 1840 he became for a short time envoy in Turin.
