Prior to playing in the NHL, Miettinen played for five years in the SM-Liiga with HPK Hämeenlinna picking up the Kultainen kypärä and the Lasse Oksanen trophy in his final year in Finland.

Antti Abram Hyvärinen: was a Finnish ski jumper who competed in the 1950s. He was born in Rovaniemi.His best year as a ski jumper was 1956, when he won a gold medal in the Individual large hill at the Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo as well as the ski jumping competition at the Holmenkollen ski festival. He became the first non-Norwegian ski jumper to win an Olympic gold medal.

He was skilled writer and used Kalevala meter in his poems.Puhakka was illiterate until he was twenty-one but after gaining the skill of writing he wrote nearly twenty thousand lines of poetry. Later he also became a member of the Finnish Literature Society.Antti Puhakka was elected to the Diet of Finland four times after 1862 representing land-owning peasants and became a popular politician in Finland.[2]

Tuuri has also translated some Icelandic sagas.Many of his novels have been made into films including Rukajärven tie also known as "Ambush" in English, about the Continuation War 1941-44 in Karelia, Russia and Talvisota, the Winter War 1939-1940.
