Akira Sakata: a Japanese free jazz, saxophonist.He trained as a marine biologist. He joined the Yamashita Yosuke Trio from 1972 till 1979 and toured internationally with them. In 1986, he performed with Last Exit with Bill Laswell. This performance was released as 1987's Noise of Trouble: Last Exit Live in Tokyo. Laswell went on to play bass on and produce Sakata's Fisherman's.com.[1]

As for dramas, Terao has acted with Kazunari Ninomiya in Yasashii Jikan as well as in the latest Takuya Kimura helmed drama, Change (Spring 2008).

His literary career began in 1962 with the publication of The Children's Room, (Kodomobeya), an emotional account of growing up with a mentally retarded older brother. His short story, Peaches, published in 1972, has appeared in several anthologies of short stories. Peaches is a beautiful, mystical tale that finds the author questioning the most fundamental source of his art——his memory.
