Adolf Ziegler: was a German painter and politician. He was tasked by the Nazi Party to oversee the purging of "Degenerate art", made by most of the German modern artists. He was the favoured painter of Hitler.Already a member of the Nazi Party in the early 1920’s, he met Hitler in 1925 and became one of his advisors in artistic matters. Hitler commissioned Ziegler to paint a memoriam portrait of his niece, Geli Raubal, who committed suicide. In 1937 he painted the Judgement of Paris, which Hitler personally acquired some time later, hanging it in his residence at Munich - Hitler would later also hang Ziegler's The Four Elements at a residence in Munich. It became an overnight sensation through frequent reproduction.

Adolf Gotthard Noreen: was a Swedish linguist who served as a member of the Swedish Academy from 1919 until his death.Noreen was born at Värmland. He became a student at Uppsala University in 1871 and went on to complete his doctorate there in 1877; he became a lecturer at the university in the same year. Noreen spent most of 1879 at the University of Leipzig, the home of the Neogrammarian school of linguistics - a school to which Noreen belonged for his entire literary life. Whilst in Leipzig, Noreen was taught Lithuanian by August Leskien, a pioneer of research into sound laws.

Adolf De Meyer: was a Paris born photographer who became world famous for his elegant photographic portraits of famous people. Born to a German father and Scottish mother, he was educated in Dresden, and in 1893 joined the Royal Photographic Society, moving to London in 1895. He took the surname Meyer-Watson in 1896 but from 1899 called himself Baron Adolph de Meyer. In 1899, he married in Chelsea Olga Caracciolo, whose godfather was Edward VII. It was a marriage of convenience more than love, as de Meyer was homosexual, and his wife Olga was bisexual.
