Ulrike Maisch: is a long-distance runner from Germany, who won the women's marathon at the 2006 European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden. She also competed for her native country at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Maisch ran in the marathon at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics in Berlin, but dropped out due to a foot injury. She and Richard Friedrich (also a runner) had a child in early 2011 – Emil, named after the eminent Czech runner Emil Zátopek. Maisch said that becoming a mother did not mean the end of her running career, citing the example of Paula Radcliffe.[1]

Ulrike Sarvari: is a retired German sprinter who specialized in the 200 metres. She finished fourth in the 4x100 m relay for West Germany at the 1987 World Championships in Athletics and the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. Over 60 metres she finished sixth at the 1989 IAAF World Indoor Championships and won the 1990 European Indoor Championships in Athletics. At the 1990 EIC she also won the 200 metres.
