Tao Jin: is a Chinese football player who currently plays for Shanghai Shenhua as a defender in the Chinese Super League. Tao Jin started his professional football career in 2006 with Shanghai Shenhua after graduating from their youth team. He would have to wait until the 2008 league season before he would make his senior debut against Hangzhou Greentown F.C. in August 30 2008 in a 1-1 draw, league game. Despite his limited playing time with Shanghai he was still included in Shanghai's 2009 AFC Champions League squad.

China provided his personal details to the Chinese government. On August 28, 2007, the World Organization for Human Rights USA sued Yahoo! for allegedly providing information (email and IP address) to the Chinese government that caused the arrests of writers and dissidents. The lawsuit was filed in San Francisco for journalists Shi Tao and Wang Xiaoning.

Song Tao: is a retired Chinese basketball player and coach. 6'10" with impressive mobility, he was the first player from Asia drafted by an NBA team when the Atlanta Hawks selected him in the 3rd round of the 1987 NBA draft, although he never went to training camp due to serious knee injuries. Song competed at 1988 Seoul Olympic Games and was the flag bearer of the Chinese Olympic Team. He retired from China men's national basketball team in 1991 and became a coach/player on the Shandong provincial team. In 1993, Song went to study in San Francisco, California and then moved to Taiwan to compete in the professional Chinese Basketball Alliance until he retired there around the turn of the century. He coached the National Chiao Tung University varsity team in the ensuing years.
