Renate Ida Rubinstein: was a German-Dutch writer, journalist and columnist.Following the Battle of the Netherlands, when Nazi Germany invaded and conquered the Netherlands in 1940, Rubinstein's father was arrested. He was murdered in the Auschwitz concentration camp near the end of World War II. This event was a determining factor in Rubinstein's life and work - she is said to have spent the rest of her life searching for a father-figure, and her bond with German-British sociologist Norbert Elias has been explained by some as proof for this.

Renate Krößner: is a German actress. She has appeared in such films as Nordkurve, Solo Sunny and Alles auf Zucker!. In television she had appeared on Tatort, Bruder Esel, Stubbe - Von Fall zu Fall and Einmal Bulle, immer Bulle. For her role in Solo Sunny, she won the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the 30th Berlin International Film Festival.[1] In 1993 Krößner won a Deutscher Filmpreis Best Actress award for her work in Nordkurve.

Renate Müller: was a German singer and actress in both silent films and sound films, as well as on stage. One of the most successful actresses in German films from the early 1930s, she was courted by the Nazi Party to appear in films that promoted their ideals, but refused. Her sudden death at the age of 31 was initially attributed to epilepsy, but after the end of World War II, witnesses suggested that she had been murdered by Gestapo officers, although another theory contends that she committed suicide.[1] The true circumstances of her death remain unknown.
