Raúl Ernesto Ruiz Pino: was a Chilean filmmaker. Ruiz spent some years at the Catholic University of Santa Fe, Argentina's cinema school. Back in Chile, he directed his first feature film Tres tristes tigres in the late 1960s, winning the Golden Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival. He was something of an outsider among the politically oriented filmmakers of his generation, such as Miguel Littín and Helvio Soto, his work being far more ironic, surrealistic, and experimental. In 1973, after the coup d'état led by the dictator Augusto Pinochet, he left Chile and settled in France. After several years producing and directing low-budget telefilms, he began working with larger budgets and "name" stars in 1996 with Three Lives and Only One Death. The following year he directed Genealogies of a Crime, starring Catherine Deneuve. The film won the Silver Bear for an outstanding artistic contribution at the 47th Berlin International Film Festival.[2] John Malkovich starred in Le temps retrouvé, Les Âmes fortes and Klimt.

Rafael Del Pino: is a Cuban airplane pilot and political dissident. Del Pino joined Fidel Castro's 26th of July Movement at the age of 17, in December 1955. He was arrested and sent to prison in early 1957. After his release he went to exile in Venezuela, where he was arrested during the uprising against dictator Marcos Pérez Jiménez. After the Cuban Revolution, he joined the new Cuban Air Force at the beginning of 1959 and began his flying training to become a fighter pilot. In April 1961, he flew against CIA-sponsored armed forces in the Bay of Pigs Invasion. Flying a Lockheed T-33 jet, he shot down two Douglas B-26 Invaders and sunk several enemy vessels. During the three-day battle, Rafael del Pino flew 25 combat missions. As a result of the decisive role of Cuban pilots during this historic event, president Fidel Castro declared them "Heroes of Playa Giron".

Gilberto Andrés Romero Pino: is a self-taught Cuban artist specializing in humorous drawings and paintings. He has participated in exhibitions such as the First through Sixth Bienal Internacional de Dibujo Humorístico y Gráfica Militante at the Círculo de Artesanos in San Antonio de los Baños, Havana. He was involved in the 7th and 9th International Cartoon Contest at Yomiuri Shimbum in Tokyo, Japan.
