Pierrette Alarie,: a French Canadian coloratura soprano. Married to celebrated French-Canadian tenor Léopold Simoneau.Alarie was the daughter of a choirmaster and assistant conductor of the Société Canadienne d'opérettes and of a soprano and actress. She studied voice and acting early and performed on radio at the age of 14, first as an actress and later as a singer of popular music. While studying voice with Victor Issaurel, she made her debut in 1938 at Les Variétés lyriques in the operetta The White Horse Inn. She also sang Marie in La fille du régiment and the lead role in Mireille. On a scholarship she went to the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia to complete her studies with Elisabeth Schumann.

Pierrette Venne: was a member of the Canadian House of Commons from 1988 to 2003. By career, she worked in law. Venne was elected in the Saint-Hubert electoral district under the Progressive Conservative party in the 1988 general election. The riding was recently created from a restructuring of two former ridings. She was re-elected in Saint-Hubert in the 1993 general election, and was also re-elected in 1997 and 2000 when the riding was renamed Saint-Bruno—Saint-Hubert. Her term of office would cover the 34th, 35th, 36th and 37th Canadian Parliaments. She left the Conservatives to join the Bloc Québécois party on 12 August 1991. On 7 February 2003 she was ejected from the Bloc after she made critical comments about party leader Gilles Duceppe. Venne remained in Parliament until the end of her term after which she left politics.

Pierrette Ringuette: is a Canadian Senator. Ringuette, a businesswoman and professor, was the first francophone woman to be elected to the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick. She sat in the body as a member of the New Brunswick Liberal Party beginning in 1987. In the 1993 federal election, she won a seat in the Canadian House of Commons as the Liberal Member of Parliament (MP) for Madawaska—Victoria by defeating Progressive Conservative Cabinet Minister Bernard Valcourt. She was defeated in the subsequent 1997 federal election, one of a number of Maritime Liberal MPs who lost their seats that year.
