Peng Dehuai: was a prominent military leader of the Communist Party of China, and China's Defence Minister from 1954 to 1959. Peng was an important commander during the Second Sino-Japanese War, the Chinese civil war and was also the commander-in-chief of People's Volunteer Army in the Korean War. He fell from favour after criticizing Mao's policies in the Great Leap Forward and suffered greatly through the Cultural Revolution.

Peng Si: is a contemporary Chinese painter based in Beijing. While still a student at the prestigious Central Academy of Fine Arts, Peng exhibited his paintings alongside those of long-established artists in the Third National Oil Painting Exhibtion. He graduated from the Central Academy in 2004. As a member of the "post-80s" generation of artists in China, Peng has been involved in several prominent group shows in the last few years; he has also been the subject of many solo exhibitions, and his work is featured in the collections of major galleries at Beijing's 798 Art Zone. Critics have praised his "implementation (of techniques) and reflection on Chinese an Western art" [1], especially his calligraphic skill and his "thorough examination of trends in artistic thought"[2] from the May Fourth Movement through the post-1949 period in China.

Peng Xiuwen: was a noted Chinese conductor and composer. He was a native of Wuhan, in the Hubei province of central China.He learned to play the erhu beginning at age seven. He directed the China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra (????????), a large orchestra of Chinese traditional (and modernized traditional) instruments which was based in Beijing.
