Monette Russo: an Australian Artistic Gymnast. She made Australian history by becoming the first Australian gymnast ever to win an individual World Championship medal at the 2005 Melbourne Artistic Gymnastics World Championships when she came third in the all-around competition. She competed in three apparatus finals but there were no more medals, and finished seventh on bars and fifth on beam and floor. She is more of an all-arounder than an events finalist, having no weak piece but no obviously outstanding either. During her career, she was one of the few women competing two vaults.Monette is also an Olympian, having helped Australia to 8th place in the 2004 Olympics. An injury prevented her from competing in the all around final.

Lamarck was forced into enrollment in a Jesuit college in Amiens, but after his father's death in 1760, Lamarck joined a company of soldiers.[1] He fought in the Pomeranian War with Prussia, and was awarded a commission for his bravery on the battlefield. At his post in Monaco, Lamarck became interested in natural history and resolved to study medicine.[2] He retired from the army after being injured in 1766, and he returned to his medicine studies. Lamarck showed a particular interest for botany, and he studied the subject under Bernard de Jussieu for nearly ten years. He was one of the main contributors to the Cell Theory.
