Lys Assia: a Swiss pop singer. She was born in Rupperswil, Canton of Aargau, Switzerland.As a young girl she was a dancer, but stood in for a female singer in 1940. People who heard her singing liked it, so she changed from dancing to singing.In 1956 she was the winner of the very first Eurovision Song Contest, in which she sang for Switzerland. She had also been in the German national final of that year (see: Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 1956); she returned to the contest again for Switzerland in 1957 and 1958.

Lysandros Vilaetis: was a chief of Pyrgos and a Greek politician elected from 1823 until 1864. He descended from a noted family of Pyrgos in which he was one of the first who inhabited the area. He was a representative of Ilia in the Second National Assembly at Astros in 1823, in the Third National Assembly at Troezen, in the Fourth National Assembly at Argos, in the Fifth National Assembly at Nafplion, in the Third of September National Assembly of the Greeks at Athens and in the Second National Assembly of the Greeks at Athens in 1862.

Lysippos: was a Greek sculptor of the 4th century BC. Lysippos, Skopas and Praxiteles are considered the three great sculptors of the Classical Greek era, bringing transition into the Hellenistic era. Taken together, the large workshop of Lysippos, the demand for replicas of his work in his lifetime[1] and later among Hellenistic and Roman connoisseurs, the number of disciples directly in his circle[2] and the survival of his works only in copies, pose problems of method for the student.
